Who is this for and how can I use it?

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (TPFT), Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust (BEH) worked together in the first phase of the pandemic to deliver wellbeing and psychological support for health and care staff across NCL. In March 2021, we received funding to substantiate our work through establishing a Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in NCL.

The commitment to fund a wave of Mental Health and Wellbeing Hubs was through the NHS England and NHS Improvement People Plan, to support the mental health of health and social care staff and organisations.

Keeping Well NCL Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub is relevant to anyone who works in health and social care in North Central London. So this covers the 17 Provider Trusts, primary care, social care and commissioning.

We believe that everybody matters.

How can I use the Hub?

Our website forms the centre of the Hub. We have expanded content and functionality over time to ensure it is accessible and relevant for all staff and we continually generate new content in response to direct feedback from the workforce.

We analyse emerging themes on a weekly basis and then:

  • provide tailored original content, e.g. podcasts from experts across NCL
  • curate and highlight existing resources and tools e.g. topic of the month
  • signpost to local, regional and national initiatives.

In March 2021 we launched a real time Health Chat staffed by Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who can signpost and refer into local services as required. This is available between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and you can leave a message outside these hours for someone to contact you.

We have grouped information together that we think will be relevant to Individuals, Teams and Organisations. So some information can be found in multiple places and it’s definitely worth spending some time taking a look at all the resources that you think might be relevant to you. Our interactive map at the top the page gives an idea of the spread and extent of our work to date.

For individuals:
  • You will find many relevant resources in the ‘Individual’ section of the website ranging from…….. to ………….
  • The Health Chat allows individuals to have a confidential conversation with a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner who will listen to your experience and provide onward referral to other resources, services and support where necessary and appropriate
For teams:
  • There are a range of training and support offers made available to managers and team leaders, including regular webinars/Q&As, and bookable virtual/face-to-face training sessions
  • Key topic areas include trauma: impact of trauma and self-care; organisational change; leadership; mental health and wellbeing
  • Online-only asynchronous training is available which can be accessed by all health and social care staff across NCL at a convenient time
For organisations;
  • We have a multi-disciplinary clinical team who are focused on proactive outreach to partner organisations
  • We support the establishment of reflective groups across organisations and work to build capacity within staff to sustain these moving forwards
