About us

KeepingWell NCL is here to support you, as you support others

The KeepingWell NCL Hub provides mental health & wellbeing support for all health & social care staff who live or work in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield & Haringey.

Who is this service for and how can I use it?

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (TPFT), Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust (BEH) have worked together in the first phase of the pandemic to deliver wellbeing and psychological support for health and care staff across NCL. We have now received funding to substantiate our work through establishing a Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in NCL.

The commitment to fund a wave of Mental Health and Wellbeing Hubs was through the NHS England and NHS Improvement People Plan, to support the mental health of health and social care staff.

The Keeping Well NCL website is relevant to anyone who works in health and social care in North Central London. This covers the 17 Provider Trusts, primary care, social care and commissioning.

Whilst we can offer specific support for certain areas of the system, what you see on this website is directed at every staff member. We believe that everybody matters. All of our staff, regardless of job title or professional background, are critical to supporting our efforts to respond to COVID-19 and keep our health and social care systems running. This is a resource that aims to reach and have relevance across the workforce.

We have set up a two-way platform with you to ensure that we keep in touch and offer what’s most useful to you. Our team of wellbeing and mental health practitioners at the Tavistock and Portman will also be reviewing the resources and sharing good practice.

So we invite you to visit this site every couple of days to see any new information and resources that are coming through and let us know what you are feeling right now.

What we offer

Our website forms the centre of the Hub, with an expansion of content and functionality to ensure it is accessible and relevant for all staff. The site captures direct feedback from the workforce; provides tailored original content in response to workforce feedback, e.g. podcasts from experts across NCL; curates existing resources and tools; and signposts to local, regional and national initiatives. In March 2021 we launched a Health Chat platform to enable real-time signposting and onward referral into local services as required.

For organisations

  • We have a multi-disciplinary clinical team (drawn from organisations across NCL) who are focused on proactive outreach to partner organisations to encourage staff to seek support when required
  • We support the establishment of reflective groups across organisations and work to build capacity within staff to sustain these moving forwards

For teams

  • There are a range of training offers made available to managers and team leaders, including regular drop-in webinars/Q&As, and bookable virtual/face-to-face training sessions
  • Key topic areas include trauma: impact of trauma and self-care; organisational change; leadership; mental health and wellbeing
  • Online-only asynchronous training is available which can be accessed by all health and social care staff across NCL at a convenient time

For individuals

  • Whilst the Hub does not offer direct psychological support for all staff, there is a dedicated space for people who are in an acute state and we will provide a rapid clinical assessment
  • For staff who do not wish to engage in psychological services or therapy at this time, we offer active monitoring where appropriate
