Resource description:

In this clip from our webinar, ‘Back to School After Lockdown’, family therapists Ola and Sam give advice for families undergoing transitions, such as the return to school after the summer holidays.

They discuss why communicating with children and young people may be a helpful tool when things feel difficult, and how guardians can create opportunities for communication in daily home life.

The slides discussed in this video suggest activities to open up communicating with children and young people. They also contain details of other support services you can access if you or a young person are struggling at home.

This clip is from a KeepingWell NCL webinar held in September 2021. This session invited staff to consider the transition back to school after Covid-19 related lockdowns.

Because the webinar focused on the impact of lockdown on family and school life, some of the discussion may feel less relevant now. However, we know that many of us are still managing the impact of the pandemic and lockdowns in our daily life. You can still watch the full webinar and access the resources via our website if you think this may be helpful.
